2008 sales were strong so we began the year with fewer wines than usual, but a good representation of what we do: a wonderful crisp Bacchus, our classic Chardonnay, an elegant Pinot Noir and the favourite Maltman's Double Red. Plus the wonderful Reserve Foch 2002 and a limited amount of the 2003 Merlot.

We added a fairly bold bold Pinot Noir from 2005 in the summer and that has sold well. This is the first Pinot for which we used entirely new oak and we are still recommending people keep at least some of this in their cellar for later enjoyment.

We said farewell to the extraordinary Foch at the Dinner Dance on September 19th. Bernice's table made a special effort in this regard. We will have less than a case on hand in our barrel cave when we open--for (very) special events.

With more space we plan to do some fairly extensive bottling this winter, including a "steel cut" Chardonnay--with no oak exposure at all and both a Pinot Gris and a Pinot Grigio--thanks to the wonderful crops on our second vineyard on Mount Prevost.

2005 Chardonnay
Dry European light style with subtle oak influences and hints of baked apple on the nose. Smooth lingering finish.

2006 Bacchus
A super crisp version of this German cross of Riesling and Sylvaner.  Full body--delightful with  sole, crab or softer cheeses.

2006 Pinot Gris
Sold out.
2006 Pinot Grigio
Sold out.

2003 Pinot Noir Reserve
Old world style, elegant and smooth with an earthy aroma. Ripe fruit with lots of berry flavors on the palate. Wonderful with salmon or steak.

2002/03 William Maltman
This blend of seventy percent Marechal Foch and thirty percent Gamay Noir is our most popular red. Foch contributes smokey caramel and rich stewed berry flavours to this wine, while the Gamay Noir provides acidity and fruitiness. The marriage gives us a full- bodied red with a spicy and fruity nose. Complements beef, buffalo, and venison. A big, hearty wine for fall and winter feasts.

2002 Maréchal Foch Reserve
Maréchal Foch is an excellent grape to grow in our climate, it has a distinctive flavour of jammy, red –fruit berries with undertones of smoky caramel & licorice. This is a sophisticated wine with depth and complexity.

~ Coming Soon ~

2005 Pinot Noir
New world style.  The first Pinot Noir we put into new oak barrels. 2005 was a good year for Pinot and this wine is currently being aged in the bottle and will be released when the tannins are a little softer and the fruit even more integrated.

2002 Scarlatti Sisters
SOLD OUT. Fifty percent Merlot and fifty percent Cabernet Franc; scarlet in colour and displaying classic varietal characteristics. Pronounced red fruit and spiced nose. The developed and the developing tannins provide an appealing complexity and age-worthiness. Excellent company with spicy food and cool evenings.

2002 Pinot Noir
SOLD OUT A classic Burgundian-style Pinot Noir with a good balance of fruit and acidity.  An extremely elegant yet still earthy wine, this Pinot’s depth arises from being raised in the richest soil of the vineyard, its flavours concentrated by lots of competition from dock, vetch, clovers, nettles and ever a few thistles.
