We’ll also have vegetarian couscous, saffron rice, corn on the cob and a freshly-picked basil and tomato salad. For dessert, dig into blackberry cheesecake.
The music
The evening’s sound-track will be by the remarkable DJ Marshall, digitally spinning from his awe-inspiring collection of the greatest African music ever recorded! We’re talking about Ghanian Highlife and Soukous, Nigerian Juju, Cameroon's Makossa and Cote d’Ivoire’s Ziglibithy.
All this for only $35 per person!
Net proceeds from the evening will fund the VAM Village in Ghana, West Africa: a 100 acre project devoted to improving the quality of life for lower income African women and their families. The village will include 60 acres devoted to farming including teaching gardens for the participants, along with classes for literacy, health, nutrition, conflict resolution, and other vocational training programs. A safe place where women can learn to develop a voice for peace.
